Taking a ride on the Algoma Central Railway or just visiting Sault Ste. Marie? Be sure to grab a swimsuit, fishing gear, camera, cross-country skis or snowmobile (depending on the season) and head up Highway 17 North.

You'll have your choice of tent and trailer park, hotel, beautiful beach at Heyden, Goulais, Searchmont, Havilland Bay or Harmony Beach. Travel another 56km (35mi) to Batchawana and Pancake Bay to explore miles of safe, sandy beach and picnic. Take your pick of hotels and motels, cabins and resorts for your overnight stay. Experience Northern hospitality and delicious meals at any of the restaurants or browse for unique items at gift shops.

Further up Highway 17 North is Montreal River Harbour and Wawa, prime touring country for the do-it-yourself fall colour tour during mid-September to mid-October. Lush green forest transfrom magcially into an explosion of spectacular fall colours - fiery oranges, scarlett reds and golden yellows.
