Tips for U.S. Riders Crossing the Border

Algoma Country is a combination of breathtaking scenery, welcoming communities, great food and fantastic accommodations. It’s not surprising that the Grand Algoma Route is one of the top weekend motorcycle tour in Ontario!

The famous Highway 129 has been nicknamed by riders as Ontario’s “Tail of the Dragon” with the miles of twists and turns that follow the Mississagi River. This is one of the most scenic areas in Ontario. Begin your tour either in Sault Ste. Marie or Thessalon. We recommend travelling north up the 129 to Chapleau, then the 101 to Wawa. You may see moose or bears on this stretch of highway. Stop in at Potholes Nature Reserve to see unique geology. Be sure to take that epic photo in front of the Wawa Goose, before heading south on Highway 17 back to the “Soo”. Get ready to enjoy jaw-dropping scenery with the views on the Lake Superior Coastline.

This route will give you a taste of what you can expect when you take the plunge to Ride the Mighty Lake Superior. Three States, one Province and the Greatest of all the Great Lakes. This is a tour that should be on every rider’s bucket list. Motorcycle riders looking to experience that epic journey visit www.ridelakesuperior.com
