Description: Take the Deer Trail to Elliot Lake and discover a vibrant community, nestled amid the majestic rock formations of the age-old precambrian shield. Watch as leaves change to pine needles and enjoy some the most breathtaking vistas, as you discover plenty of unique opportunities to explore waterways and old roads. Visit the Fire Tower Lookout, Mississagi Provincial Park or the local museum, which depicts the rich mining heritage of the community and is the northern home of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame. Fish, hike, canoe, ATV, snowmobile, ski, or just relax in a comfortable hotel, a rustic lodge or a local campground. Plan to attend special events held throughout the year including the Jewel in the Wilderness Heritage Festival in June, the NHRA Drag Races in July, the ATV Rally Run in August, the Deer Trail Studio Tour in September, Winterfest and the Annual Snowmobile Rally in February.
