NIAGARA NORTHSHORE TOUR – A musical showcase connecting music makers from Niagara to the Northshore…
Rita Visser & THUNDERCLAP! had a successful summer tour this past June along the Northshore, promoting their new records. They connected with many beautiful musicians along the way. In the spirit of keeping the momentum of connection through song alive, they are excited to be travelling back to play some shows with Wawa’s songstress, Alex Charbonneau. As well, they are thrilled to introduce their Niagara friend Zach Bury’s soul filled sounds to the great North.
Headliners
Rita Visser (Rita & the Daydreamers), a storyteller at heart, lures you to join her around the figurative campfire with her warm soul filled rugged voice. Raised on a rustic fishing island outside of Thunder Bay on Lake Superior, Rita’s music reflects her deep connection to nature and her Canadiana roots. A tell-it-like-it-is song writer, Rita’s songs resonate with pure emotion and sincerity, painting vivid images of the healing effects of nature and heartache. Rita’s latest album, Northern Daydream, draws upon many references inspired by our Canadian waters, including songs such as: “Skippin’ Stones”, “Batchawana Bay”, “The Helm”, and more. She is thrilled to be playing her songs for the Northshore yet again.
A live THUNDERCLAP! show harkens back to the traditional arch of storytelling. This Niagara Falls performance artist uses honesty and humility to develop an almost magical report with “every” audience he performs for. Besides performing successfully all-over North America & Western Europe; he’s shared the bill with acts like Hotel Mira, The Trews, The Plastic People of the Universe, Day-Glo Abortions, Mary Margarate O’Hara, & Tony Robbins to name a few. His days training as a practicing method actor in film & stage has no doubt led to what’s now an arguably “brave” spectacle that generally leaves the audience scratching their heads in all the right ways.
Special Guests
Alex Charbonneau was born and raised in small town Wawa, Ontario – Alex cut her teeth in Montreal, where she lived and played music professionally for the better part of ten years! Living back home has her closer to the things that originally inspired her to write: the natural beautiful of Northern Ontario and also the struggles of small-town life. As a tender storyteller with rough edges, she is a unique artist not to miss!
“The Folk Kurt Cobain” and “Niagara’s Bob Dylan” are just a few words people have used to describe Zach Burys performance on stage. Zach Bury steps to the microphone and sets free his most raw emotions with his blues inspired signature soulful “foot-stompin’”, there is a level of captivation that is undeniable. His music can dig right into the hearts of his listeners and his smile while stompin’ can light up the world.
