Eat Local in Algoma Country

Updated: By Heather Bot

Shopping Local, Eating Local and Staying Local has always been important to us, but now it’s more important than ever for us to support our small businesses. By using our website’s resources, we’ve made it simple for you to find where to shop, eat, and stay local so that you can continue to support our local communities, and tourism businesses, no matter what area of the Algoma region.

Explore virtual downtowns at your fingertips to get a look at what’s waiting for you. Maybe it’s a marathon shopping trip or relaxing in a café with a good book and WiFi. It could be the chance to stock up on locally grown ingredients and products for your kitchen pantry. Or sampling local flavours on food and drink menus that tasty. Our food and drink establishments are offering a variety of options for dine-in, curbside pickup, take-out, delivery, and outdoor seating on patios.

Tuesdays used to be about tacos. Now, it’s about take-out.

Tuesdays are generally the slowest day for restaurant business but #TakeoutTuesday is helping to change all this. Restaurants, diners, cafes and eateries in Algoma Country offer fantastic meals for every taste, every flavour, and every price point. In Ontario, licensed restaurants and bars can sell alcohol with food takeout and delivery orders and can also offer mixed cocktails and growlers with their food delivery or takeout orders.
