What a time to be alive!
Let’s be honest, nothing beats the Classic Canadian Poutine. Fresh Hand Cut French Fries, Gravy and Cheese Curds. It’s a match made in comfort food heaven! However, during Poutine Feast, the classic poutine is a thing of the past.
On June 28th, 2019 – July 1st, 2019, in partnership with The Downtown Association, the Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site proudly hosted what may be the most Canadian event ever on the Canada Day weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, Poutine Feast. If you’re a fan of poutine, even if you’re not, this event is for you! But what makes this event so special?
Poutine Feast is a traveling Festival that brings a mighty twist to every Canadian’s favourite dish, the poutine. Several vendors around Ontario join together to go on this epic tour to bring delicious creations that you never imagined would be possible in the world of poutine. The best part, local vendors can join too!
Each vendor offers their own unique styles of poutine, over 50 varieties to choose from, ranging from Pulled Pork to Philly Steak to Lobster. This also includes options that are vegan friendly!
The amazing array of deliciousness to choose from was out of this world. After waffling for awhile, I finally decided on the Philly Steak and added jalapeños and hot sauce to kick it up a notch. I couldn’t have been happier with my choice.
Philly Steak Poutine – Fresh Cut Fries, Cheese Curds, Gravy, Shaved Beef, Sauteed Red/Green Bell Peppers, and Shredded Cheddar Cheese
But wait! There’s more! The event was also paired with live entertainment and activities to go along with the Canada Day weekend.
Although I had a fantastic time and would recommend this event to anyone, this may have ruined regular poutines for me for life. Let’s be realistic…that’ll never happen.
