Warrior Strong

Filmed locally in Sault Ste. Marie, Warrior Strong returns to the big screen at the Sault Community Theatre Centre on November 8th at 7:30 pm, following the screening of Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising at 4:00 pm, also directed by Shane Belcourt.

When Bilal left his hometown for a basketball career worthy of his gifts, he was sure he’d never return. Now suspended from the Chinese pro league, he’s desperate to repair his image, and what could fix a “coach-killer” rep more than returning to coach his old school team? The only problem: his old coach, Schmidt, stubbornly refuses. Until a heart attack forces his hand. This ragtag team needs help. They can barely get along, let alone play together. But that’s not the only hurdle. Bilal and Schmidt have different opinions on running things, and an emotional rift from their past. Forced together, they must learn and grow together if they want to teach champions.
