Algoma Country boasts one of the highest bear populations in North America and with two seasons to hunt you now have more chances than ever to land that famous Northern Ontario bruin.

From the start of May to the middle of June, the spring bear hunt offers you a chance to hunt bears exiting their winter slumber. From the middle of August through to the end of October the fall bear hunt allows you a chance at bears fattening up for the winter season.

Many lodge and resorts in Algoma Country offer bear hunt packages with high success rates. All non-resident bear hunters must be registered with a tourist outfitter, lodge, or air operator to be eligible for a bear license. All members of your party must have a valid license and outdoors card on them while hunting in Algoma.
