The Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association positions the Algoma region as an internationally recognized iconic Canadian travel destination.

Mission Statement

The Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association is a not-for-profit tourism industry organization that supports the growth of tourism through partnership, product development, research, education and marketing.

Background

This Association is a stand-alone organization that has four full-time employees. The office is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The geographic area is from the town of Spanish to Sault Ste. Marie to White River, up to Hearst to Chapleau, to Elliot Lake and Spanish. The geographic size is approximately 28,000 square miles.

The Association is a not-for-profit incorporated association that represents members and partners located within its geographic borders. Its membership is as diverse as the tourism product here, from small motels to branded full-service motels, to fishing lodges and soft outdoor outfitters, retail and attractions.

The Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association has proudly represented the region’s tourism industry since 1974. Over the past 50 years, Algoma has continuously evolved, strengthening our Board leadership, staffing, and programming. Thanks to the dedication of our team and Board, along with unwavering support from the industry, we have established ourselves as recognized leaders in Northern Ontario tourism.
