Are you a die-hard sledder looking for an amazing place to ride? Algoma Country has an incredible trail network for snowmobiling. The trails allow serious riders to turn big numbers on their odometers while witnessing the beautiful backcountry of this rugged part of Ontario.
For big milers, the North Shore Loop is the perfect place for the weekend warrior. Connect at Sudbury or the Sault Ste. Marie area then take the southern route just above Lake Huron in one direction, returning on the more remote north route through Elliot Lake. This exciting trip is made up of great staging areas and scenic vistas over the North Channel of Lake Huron. There’s even a side loop on St. Joseph Island connecting to Drummond Island, USA via the Ice Bridge.
Another ultimate snowmobile ride is from the Sault Ste. Marie area towards Hearst on a 2- to 5-day epic snow adventure on remote wilderness trails known as the “All The Way There” ride. Depending on your venturesome spirit, each ride is expertly mapped out on the SledAlgoma.com website.
Another loop riders will like is the 105-mi /169-km Soo Highlands Loop – the region’s newest loop! This day loop allows riders to experience the rugged landscapes close to the area’s largest urban center.
