Symphonic Sketches is a concert full of musical “pictures”, presented by the Sault Symphony Orchestra, with each piece telling its own story and capturing a different feeling or moment. You’ll hear the lively, joyful energy of Johannes Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, the warm and nostalgic feel of Godfrey Ridout’s Fall Fair, and the bold, uplifting sounds of Edward Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1, along with the powerful and familiar Jerusalem by Charles Hubert Hastings Parry. The concert wraps up with the rich, dramatic music of Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7. It’s a program that’s easy to enjoy, whether you’re hearing this music for the first time or coming back to favourites you already love.
