The Township of St. Joseph, which includes Richards Landing, was incorporated in 1876. Richards Landing is the largest settlement on the Island. It serves the community with a wide range of services, including recreation, culture, health, and finance.
You’ll find unique shops and eateries, historic sites, and many exciting events and festivals during the summer and fall months. Annual art shows, the Maple Syrup Festival, the Go North Music Festival, and the “Just Passin’ Through” concert series are among the must-attend events.
This waterfront community is a haven for boaters, bicyclists and touring vacationers, as it truly is a small community with a big heart that welcomes each visitor.
The Richards Landing Municipal Marina is a full-service marina. It offers showers, laundry, pump-out, free internet service and exceptional waterfront dining. And all within steps of the downtown business area.

The St. Joseph Island Lions Club's monthly pancake breakfast raises funds supporting local initiatives on the island.
