AlgomaTrad continues its Summer Concert series on Wednesday, July 29, 7pm, with world-renowned fiddler Shane Cook performing with folk/bluegrass duo The Schotts and special guest pianist and piper Arlo Quilley. Join us in the gorgeous and intimate AlgomaTrad Centre Pavilion for an incredible evening of live music and community. A Canadian Grand Master and US National fiddle champion, Shane Cook is a multi-instrumentalist, renowned for his mastery of the old-time tradition, who captivates audiences with technically thrilling and adventurous performances. He will be joined by folk/bluegrass duo The Schotts (Darrin & Alison), known for their beautiful harmonies and world-class musicianship; and Arlo Quilley, a multi-instrumentalist on piano, Irish and Northumbrian pipes, Irish whistle, and guitar.
Music at AlgomaTrad continues at the 23rd Annual Algoma Traditional Music, Dance, and Heritage Arts Family Camp with its renowned annual Staff Concert, featuring nationally- and internationally-recognized performers from across Canada and beyond, scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 7:00pm at the AlgomaTrad Centre, 1249 F&G Line on St. Joseph Island. Please bring a chair or blanket! Parking is off of 5th Side Rd.
Tickets for both shows are $35 General Admission, $30 Seniors, $25 Students, $10 Children 6-10, 5 & under free, or pay-what-you-can. The Annual AlgomaTrad Staff Concert Extravaganza will feature an incredible evening of music by all the award-winning and renowned staff members who are attending the Camp. Bios and pictures of the performers can be seen at algomatrad.ca/camp/.
Other evening events at the Camp include Community Dances and the Online Auction, open all week, which raises funds for the Nicholas Missere Bursary, a fund that helps families and individuals take part in AlgomaTrad events and workshops.
