Canal District

Canal District is a historic area of Sault Ste. Marie transformed and reimagined into a premier dining, entertainment, and attractions destination.

The former site of St. Mary’s Paper Inc., a pulp and paper mill, the historic sandstone buildings were renovated into spaces that serve both locals and visitors alike. The site consists of restaurants, and event space and the is home to the Canadian Signature Experience the Agawa Canyon Tour Train.

The Machine Shop

The Mill Steakhouse + Wine Bar, The Boiler Room, and The Steamfitters Lounge with dining options from fine dining to casual. Enjoy fresh Starbucks Coffee and delicious desserts from The Gelato Mill. The venue hosts entertainment like live music, dinner theatre, and makers markets, and the venue can be rented for weddings, receptions, meetings/conferences, or private events.

Tour Train Station

This beautiful building not only houses the train station but is home to The Outfitters, a retail shop with outdoor equipment for adults and kids. The Blockhouse Pub offers a pub-style menu with locally crafted beer, open for breakfast and grab’n-go deli.

Century 21 The Rink

Open for public skating during the winter months and in summer can be used as an event space.
