Let’s be honest, nothing beats the Classic Canadian Poutine. Fresh Hand-Cut French Fries, Gravy and Cheese Curds. It’s a match made in comfort food heaven! However, during Poutine Feast, the classic poutine is a thing of the past.

In Summer 2022, the Downtown Association, the Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site proudly hosted the first, and what may be the most Canadian event ever, on the Canada Day weekend in Sault Ste. Marie: Poutine Feast. If you’re a fan of poutine, even if you’re not, this event is for you! But what makes this event so special?

Poutine Feast is a travelling Festival that brings a mighty twist to every Canadian’s favourite dish, the poutine. Several vendors around Ontario join together to go on this epic tour to bring delicious creations that you never imagined would be possible in the world of poutine. The best part, local vendors can join too!

But wait! There’s more! The event was also paired with live entertainment and activities to go along with the Canada Day weekend.

Although I had a fantastic time and would recommend this event to anyone, this may have ruined regular poutines for me for life. Let’s be realistic…that’ll never happen.

Poutine Feast continues to delight visitors and locals alike and now makes a regular stop on Canada Day weekend at the Downtown Plaza.
