Rail Excursions

Algoma Region’s rugged wilderness awaits you on an amazing rail trip! Travel through the lush flora of the Great Lakes / St. Lawrence Forest region and granite rock formations of Canadian Shield. Although wildlife is plentiful in the area, most large mammals are frightened away by the noise of the train; most of your sightings will be limited to birds or animals in the distance.
The Agawa Canyon Wilderness Park is located on mile 114 and is only accessible by rail in the summer and fall months. During the two hour stopover, explore the park’s trails that lead to scenic spots including four waterfalls and the breathtaking Lookout. For the return trip, your train seats will be turned.
