We are inviting everyone to join us for the Fall Rendezvous & Highland Fest 2025, a four-day celebration of history, culture, and heritage! Presented by the Friends of ECNHS on September 24th to 27th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
This year, we’re proud to present Highland Fest, a tribute to the Scottish fur traders in partnership with Ermatinger during the early 1800’s – the McTavish Clan.
Come and experience:
- Live historical reenactments
- Indigenous storytelling and demonstrations
- Highland food, music, and piping.
- Authentic food & local vendors
- Tours of the historic Ermatinger Old Stone House and Clergue Blockhouse, and more…
Wednesday and Thursday, September 24th and 25th – Event Schedule from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm:
• Cannon Firing every 15 minutes from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
• Learn the drill of an 1812 soldier with Mini Militia.
• Meet the Voyageurs, the paddlers of the fur trade.
• Learn from the wood runners, “Coureur du Bois.”
• Learn about the roles and responsibilities of the women of the era.
• Meet the Surgeon from the War of 1812.
• Meet the cooper and learn about making wood barrels and buckets.
Friday, September 26th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm – Highland Fest Event Schedule:

• Pioneer Games
• Cannon Firing & Candy Cannon
• “Sip and Savour Scottish Soiree” Tasting Ticketed Event at 6:00 pm with limited slots hosted by The Whiskey Barrel
Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm – Highland Fest Event Schedule:
• The same reenactors’ stations from the Wednesday and Thursday
• Commemorative Ceremony with dignitaries at 12 noon
• Unveiling Day of the new face of the site
• 49th SSM Field Regiment Pipes & Drums
• 155 Air Cadets & Army Cadets Pipes & Drums
• Gael Force Pipe Band
• MacLeod Highland Dancers
• Hogan’s Homestead Fall Maple Tasting
• Children’s Highland Games
• Cannon fires every hour and Candy Cannon
• Indigenous Artisans and Drumming
• Food Stations on the site will be Texas BBQ of Canada & Beaver Tails
