The world’s best mountain films, books, and speakers now take the spotlight for nine days each fall in Banff. Together with learning opportunities and international competitions celebrating the best in films, books, and photography, the Festival ground-breaking adventure and exploration, remote cultures, and the world’s last great wild places – which are all brought to life as one of the flagship offerings of Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
Past Festival guests have included Sir Chris Bonington, Yvon Chouinard, Catherine Destivelle, Lynn Hill, Sir Edmund Hillary, Alex Honnold, Jon Krakauer, Alex Lowe, Reinhold Messner, Royal Robbins, and David Suzuki.
Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour began over 30 years ago as an outreach program and now reaches over 550 locations and 40 countries, bringing films to an audience of over 550,000 worldwide.
The local showing has been graciously sponsored by Algoma University.
Please note all Covid guidelines are being followed and will require a mask to be worn all time as well as proof of vaccination at the door. Social distancing procedures are built into our ticket system and as a result, max capacity of the event has been reduced. Please keep this in mind.
