Bruce Mines

Welcome to the beautiful, historic town of Bruce Mines. Nestled on the North shore of Lake Huron, straddling the Trans Canada Highway, Bruce Mines is a true four-season destination.

Founded in 1846 as Canada’s first copper mine, our scenic town is rich in history. Tour the Simpson Mine Shaft and explore more than 7,000 artifacts in the museum. The Bruce Mines area is known for its rich farmland where sandhill cranes are often seen in the fields. Hardwood forests are breathtaking in their fall colours. The landscape is dotted with freshwater lakes and rivers, making it a summer paradise for boaters and anglers. Snowmobile trails snake through the area connecting you to trails all over Ontario. All-season trails provide recreational opportunities such as cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and walking. The town hosts various activities throughout the year including the annual Four and Friends Art Show, the Canada Day Parade, the Fall Fair and the Cruisin’ Car Show.

Local amenities include a grocery store, liquor store, post office, bank, gas station, hair salon and laundromat. A full-service marina provides access to the renowned North Channel. The public library offers high-speed and wireless internet access. There are a variety of accommodations, restaurants and unique shops to suit your needs.
